Create a multimedia writing as a concrete visual text.

I want my project to be visually attractive and grab my audience's attention right away. I'm probably going to use a haiku poem of some sort. Powerpoint is probably the best program to use for this project.

Since I love fashion, I want to incorporate different elements of my own style into the visual text. The best way to express my love for fashion is to represent it through my favorite tennis shoe; Nike Blazers.  As far as the text, I want to create a poem about being stylish in college. Since many college students are broke, it is often hard to wear expensive clothes. But, I improvise purchasing nice, stylish clothes that are on sale racks. For the background, I want to use very appealing visual elements that appears to be an advertisement or billboard.

What can I say? It sounds like a good idea to me - at first I was wondering how you were going to incorporate your love of fashion into a haiku, until I realized you were writing the haiku about fashion. Sorry I can't be of more help-I like the idea of the billboard background as well.

Go commercial. Make us want that shoe for what it means to you, more than how we think cool they look!

Nice idea, when you write about something you are passionate about it will most likely show in the text so I am sure you will end up with a powerful text. Having it appear like an advertisement is a good idea because we all know how powerful ADs can be and that would make it appealing both in text and visually.

Monique: OK, a good plan. I think the incorporation of fashion makes sense - you love it, plus it's visually fascinating. Words in fashion often function as visuals, i.e. not to be read but to be looked at. Consider how text in your project might balance between these. I like the paper planes text. It's got a kind of poetic - haiku-like - simplicity and density of thought. Don't forget to write your preface/metatext!
